# Search your mail

Search all your inboxes from the top of the app, including Gmail-style operators and full-text body search.

The search field at the top of FlareMail searches the mail you are allowed to see — owners across the account, teammates only granted mailboxes. Press `/` to focus it.

## Operators

- `from:`, `to:`, `cc:`, `subject:`
- `has:attachment`, `is:unread`, `is:read`, `is:starred`
- `after:` and `before:` with ISO dates like `2026-09-01`
- `in:` for a folder and `mailbox:` for one address
- Quoted phrases and `-term` to exclude a word

Search is full-text against a derived index. The original message still lives in object storage. If nothing matches, FlareMail says so instead of showing a generic empty inbox.
